Cleaning Day

Here is what my scrap room looks like right now...its still not finished (of course) but now I can freely walk around and scrap on the table. Much better! See my scrap blog for the projects I completed today.

Wires Wires, Everywhere You Look

Today I went out and bought a slingbox. I needed it to get working on my scrap room. And I was right, once I (well really Brandon) got it working I was in my scrap room and cleaning and scrapping both...feels good!

What's a slingbox you might ask? Basically you hook it up to your cable and it allows you to watch your cable (including your DVR) through your computer. It saves me from buying another TV and paying for another cable box, since its just a one time purchase.

Now I can watch reruns on my computer-sufficient background noise for me to work away.

Day 30

Nothing new today...I just spent some time at my brother's shop. Oh and of course...cleaning the kitchen. I have a bunch more I need to get done...I wanna scrap tomorrow so I need to get off the couch and get things together.

Outta No Where...

This is July of 2003...(Martin & I) right inside Sea World, one of the very very few pictures I have of the two of us. What do I remember about this day? Not much-besides really really wanting this snap shot because I didnt have any other pictures of us-which I didnt realize at the time was really weird cause we had already been dating a year.

And how did this picture come out to play? I was looking for a paper and I ended up looking in a bin full of papers, I just forgot this was one of the things in it. Of course I happened to be looking through it right at my moms feet so there is no way she avoided seeing it, though she didnt say anything about it. I was kinda stunned for a second, then just reached out and turned it over. I wonder what my mom was thinking? At least we didnt have to talk about it right?

Ive been debating about putting it up as a 365 picture for a few days, and decided that if I did maybe I would quit thinking about it. So here it is...

"Getting on the Stick"

What exactly does the phrase "get on the stick" mean? I grew up hearing my dad say it and though I don't say it (since I think its weird!) sometimes the saying comes to mind. It came to mind today since I need to "get a move on" and start getting things ready for Valentines/February in SWF. A good place to start is looking through one of my favorite magazines Scrapbooks Etc.

A Good Little Girl

Today I was a good girl! I did a lot of things I had been putting off, including getting CA license plates for my car (they were due to be done in December). For obvious reasons I took a picture of the tags rather than the plates themselves.

Other things I did today that I had been putting off include: paying the electric bill ($119 ick), changing my insurance to CA (an extra $300 to my premium!), and got my letters of reference all lined up. Go ME!

Chewing

Apparently Roxie has finally decided to start her 'chewing' stage. This morning I got up and this is what she had done to her bed. Im hoping its only because I forgot to make sure she had a toy in her bed. Im crossing my fingers that its a one time thing.

Advil

Today I helped my dad out at his store with some paperwork. I tend to forget how bad my back spasms when I have to sit at a desk for any length of time. But even worse than that was the headache. When I got home I went directly for the Advil...I thank God for Advil on days like that. Once it kicks in I feel human again.

Doggy Kisses

This is what I see, all day long. These two nasty dogs lick each others tonsils...ugh! Ive never ever seen two dogs do this. I guess Roxie and Shadow are just 'special'. Im continually yelling at them to knock it off...hopefully someday they will get the hint and never do it again.

My Hero

This is Brandon-- my HERO!! Last week he took care of the annoying virus my computer had, and today he fixed my printer-and helped me play my new Wii game.

He's a computer genius, what would I do without him? Fall apart probably... He will forever be my 'little big' brother :)

Oh How I Love Thee!

Some days-chocolate is my best friend! And if that chocolate is made by Mars Inc. even better. Of course Im as picky about my chocolate as I am about everything else...

I really only like:
Hershey and Dove chocolate, and a Reese's thrown in here or there. I dont like dark chocolate or chocolate with nuts or creams in it ewww.

One of the best combinations ever is plain M&Ms and a Mug Root beer...yum!

99% of the time you will find a dish next to my couch with M&Ms in it...right now it also has Robin Eggs in it (yes from last year). I just NEED chocolate accessible at all times-it makes me a much nicer person.

...Peace...

Today pretty much the most exhausting thing I did all day was watch my candle burn. Ive gotten in the habit of lighting a candle and letting it burn all day. This is a scentless candle that I have leftover from living with my gma. She didnt like anything that had a scent so I would burn these just to feel like 'me'. I keep thinking I need to try the decorating them...one of these days right?

Scrap Table

Here is a picture of my scrap table. Today I scrapped (just a little) with my ladies from SWF. This is my scrap table...but its not in my scrap room yet since I cant get to my scrap room right now. But at least I got to scrap some right? Doesnt matter where!

Josie Lynn's Shower

Today was the shower for Josie Lynn. I chose this picture to represent it even though there is no 'belly' in it because this is the picture that best represents Kayla with her mom. Her fingers in her mouth, hand in her hair...and her mom kissing her. If they are the same location you will rarely find them farther apart than this. How will Josie squeeze in? Time will tell.

(btw, Kayla's shirt says "Big Sisters Rock!)

Bonding

Today was the first day that Kayla was really bonding with Roxie. Roxie has tried to be her friend all the time but Kayla has been a little intimidated by her. Today though she was down on the floor with her face in Roxie's talking to her. Even giving her commands such as "sit" and "leave it"..lol

Food

Today's picture is of my empty plate. I finally got to eat (okay no excuse-I just didnt get around to it earlier) and so I practically licked my plate clean. I even when to the grocery store so now no more complaints of not having food to use as an excuse. I gotta work harder at eating more often. I tend to wait until Im starving before I eat at all and thats not healthy, of course.

Day 17

Today was laundry day...believe it or not this is JUST my towels! I didnt get all the laundry done-more loads to be completed later.

Sick Day

Today Kayla spent the day here with me. Poor baby was so sick she was asking to take a nap. Even though she was sick and tired she was still a complete angel. But what a sad sick face :(

OCD and My Keyboard

Today I finally took the time to clean out my computer keyboard. I often blow it out with canned air. But today I went all the way, I took each and every key off and bleached the bottom of the board. Gross fuzz and stuff in there! Ewww. I only broke one key doing it too! Thank goodness my brother is a computer geek right? I just have to go get one from an old laptop he has lying around. I feel much better about touching it now.

Bathroom Detail

Today my pretty pink bathroom was invaded by my dog! Ive needed to bathe her for a while but it definitely wasnt at the top of my 'fun' list so Ive been putting it off. Today was the day. I put her in the tub and started adding soap. Wow was Roxie dirty! She didnt appear to be that dirty-guess I was wrong.

One thing I did learn though, my back wont stand for it any more. I really wanted to bathe her twice but it took all I had just to get her rinsed off the first time. From now on she's going to the groomers for that. My mom said the price isnt that bad, so my goal is to get her to the groomers once a month for a nice bath.

An added bonus from the dog having the bath is now my bathroom is clean-lol

Good-byes

Today Andrea went back to TX-with all her stuff, including bread for her mom :) We had a fun, busy time this trip...cant wait till next time! Miss you girl!

Ewwww

I forgot my McDs OJ in the car over night...and boy does old OJ stink the next day! Gross!! Here's to remembering to never do that again!

Disney Parks

Today we went to Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure Parks. It was amazing how fast we got everything done...we were ready to leave the before 6pm. Its sad how as you grow up the rides seem so much less exciting! Not to mention jerky...by the time I got home I needed to take some pills and sleep because I hurt all over. I definitely couldnt pass up the "C" photo op though :)

Friends and Shoes

Today Andrea, Hilda and I hung out at Venice Beach and played amateur photographers. Today's picture is a collaboration of both our ideas. It was my idea to take a picture of our shoes, and it was her idea to arrange them in this pattern. Kinda funny how we all wore the same type of shoe, mine and Hilda's are even both pairs of Sketchers. It was a fun day, very nice and relaxing way to spend time with friends.

Ring Ring Ring

Ive never ever been so glad to NOT hear the phone ring! Today was my last (yeah right) at Brandon's work...so I got to say good-bye to the phone-no more "Computer Repair" over and over and over and over and over!!!!

M&Ms

My M&M bag is is my life so often, (and so are M&Ms) and right now is no different. Because I have been at Brandon's shop for so many days I keep throwing more stuff in and nothing is coming out. I always feel that too much is better than not enough-that's pretty much my philosophy for everything. For a bit of balance I'm hanging out with my girlfriends tonight, and watching what I want on TV with them.

What I Didnt Get to Do Today

This is what I didnt get to touch all day...my laptop. Work was so insanely busy that I didnt even get to open it all day. I just got to see it sitting there next to me. I doubt today is going to be any better but Im still going to take it with me, otherwise Im sure I will sit there and be bored all day...Murphy's law

Kayla Kayla Kayla!

Today I spent the day cleaning (even got a bit of scrapping done) and then Kayla came over for a few hours. Its been a few weeks since Ive seen her so she told me "I havent seen you in a long long time" awww.

I took a bunch of pictures of Kayla, but to add a bit of balance I added myself to one of the shots.

Roxie's Day

Today was a "Roxie" day. It started out at the vet in the morning. It went 100x better than it did when we were there two weeks ago. This time I wasnt embarrassed to be seen with her, lol. It was so sweet too we saw a couple there with their two dobermans (is that the right way to plural doberman?) and Ive never seen her so happy to see a dog in my life! I swear it was like she recognized. They were very well behaved and so she got to see them for a while.

After that we came home so she could have a nap before her training class at Petco. The class went very well. For the first time ever she didnt have an accident! Yay me!! And I say me because Im able to read her signal better so I know when she has to go out. The lady was impressed about how well she's doing (and she should be since I havent worked with her at all in the last 2 weeks-though I didnt tell her that). She even recommended that I take her to the next step classes (AKC Good Citizen).

After that we ended up at Brandon's (he was SO busy!) shop until just a few minutes ago. It works out so well to have her kennel in my car, she was able to sleep in that there and not feel like she was away from home.

All in all it was a day all about Roxie...

Glaring...

This is my view for the day...yes including the glare. Im running my brother's office for the next few days while his office manager is out of town. If you look closely at the laptop on the left you can see that I have CM loaded on that page! I brought my laptop with me so that I can dilly dally around when customers arent calling or coming in. So far plenty of time to dilly dally!

Happy New Year!

Today's picture is of the desk in the middle of my living room. My big goal for today was to get this desk moved outside (its going on the curb, for free pick up). It took me until now to get it done because I had to wait on my brother who was gone all day. Even though it wasn't a complicated process its been weighing on me since its been sitting there for a few days now. Now that its gone I feel much better.
















And for a bit of balance in my life... Here is one of the first pictures I took of myself with my new camera. I hear some whispers of a BOM project in SWF so it just might come in handy sooner rather than later. Im going to try to post a picture of me at least once a week, to help me remember to work on my balance.
