Just Like Nina

I got to see my girlies today-first time in almost a week! One of the first thing Kayla does is ask me "can I see my room?" . LOL I told her that it was her room and she can see it whenever she wants. When I went in there a bit later to check on her this was how I found her. So funny to see her like that cause thats how I always sat in my room as a kid. On my bed with a book. Definitely some nurture involved in her life choices. Gotta love it!

Strep Throat...

What the heck is is about CA that I get strep throat here? I swear I only had strep throat once (if at all) while I lived in ID/WA. Ive only been in CA a few months and I already have it again?! I used to get it at least once a year when I lived here, I really cant stand to go back to that again.

Im glad I finally decided to go to the doctor. I wasnt going to go cause I figured it was just a cold but today was so horrible with me coughing until I gagged that I thought I would go and at least get some cough medicine with codeine. When I got they took my vitals (my BP is down even more yay!) and then the doctor told me to say 'ah' before he even flashed the light in my my mouth he said "you have strep throat". Oh joy! I dont know why I didnt think to have my mom look at my throat when I saw her yesterday cause she could have told me then, she is used to looking for me since I get it so often.

Hopefully this coughing will end soon....

Why?

I cant figure out whats wrong with my plant. This plant was always so hardy in WA. Nothing I did to it seemed to phase it. Now that Im in sunny CA its dying on me! I dont know if Im not watering it enough for the heat here or what but its making me nuts, I love this plant...or I did when it wasnt half brown, lol.

Giving In

Ive been sick for a few days now, progressively getting worse. Today I finally gave in and took cough meds. Too bad it made me extremely exhausted, I barely made it through my hours. I feel so bad going there sick but I have no choice, I really have to finish those hours now!

Tomato

Tomatoes are one of my favorite snacks. I hate when Im busy and they go to waste :(

First Time For Everything

I sat down today and looked at the maps for Disneyland and Disney's California. I'm so obsessed with organization that I brought maps home so that I can mark off the rides and activities we have participated in. I will have to photograph the map as it progresses.

Disneyland....

Maria and I took Kayla and her cousin Natalie to Disneyland today. The day started off a bit rough with Kayla in one of her whiny moods but thank goodness she snapped out of it cause it was pretty bad. While there I updated mine and Kayla's tickets to annual passes. They arent the best ones, we can only go on weekdays but they also didnt cost an arm and a leg.

I'm looking forward to going just Kayla and I so that I can see how thats going to go. Maria gets to use her ticket one more time between now and 5/4 so we will be going together again then, and then after that I should get a day with just the two of us alone. It's been a while since I have had a day with just Kayla.

Today I re-established my eharmony contract (stupid bank issues). I'm crossing my fingers that Mr. Right is on there and that he will find me soon.

Tummy Time

Josie does love her tummy time. I know all about SIDS and kids not sleeping on their tummies but sometimes when babies wont sleep there is nothing else that can be done. Josie was fussy and so I put her next to me on the couch on her tummy, and she slept for a while. Later she ended up on my lap in the tummy position too, she really needed her tummy time.

Chocolate?

Without thinking I bought a Godiva candy bar today at B&N. I was just having a rough day and outta habit picked one up. I realized after I bought it that I wasnt supposed to be eating chocolate. But decided that I should try and see what happened if I did. I was SO proud of myself that eating one square of that candy bar was plenty. Later I ate one more, but the other half of that candy bar will be staying in the 'fridge for a while.
