David and I took the kiddos to the Long Beach Aquarium. What did I learn there? Nothing about sea creatures, that I don't want four kids! Even with two adults it was more than enough kids. This photo was taken at the end of the day. Even though there were so many cute happy pictures I chose to use this one because its so "real life" the kids were done and ready to go home and just rebelled against the whole idea of one more picture.

Today I didnt take a picture, but I sooo wanted too! Tonight was my first date with Peter. It was wonderful :) He was great with Josie (I had her cause our date was last minute) and I even met his brother and sister-in-law since they showed up where we were. They were very nice. I have been missing this coffee cup for a while and its been making me insane. I have 4 hooks for the cups but suddenly there were only 3 cups. I happened to be at Brandon's today and saw it there. I went to Arizona to see Kacie this weekend. We got someone at her party to snap a picture of us, too bad its not the best one. Even though the picture didnt come out so great it was a great weekend. Her friends were wonderfully nice and even though we hadnt seen each other in a few years it was great.

The only scary spot in the weekend was that the fire alarm went off at 2am. I sat bolt upright, and was speaking before I even had my eyes open I think. Im a bit bossy when it comes to stuff like that. I started telling her to find her shoes and get up. I found my shoes and my phone (I realized later I should have went for my purse too) and was opening the door (after feeling for heat of course!) before she even found her shoes. It ended up being a false alarm (no one else was even up and looking out their doors). I couldnt go back to sleep after that cause I kept thinking about all the people who didnt even get up and see what was going on. I kept making Kacie promise me that she would get up when Im not there, no matter how many times the alarm goes off. That was scary!

Disneyland

Kayla and I went to California Adventure today. I was excited because there was a carousel there that had reopened that would be at least different than the horsies I get so sick of. Kayla liked it-requesting to ride a fish. It was a rough trip for some reason. She was perfectly well behaved of course but for some reason she had to go to the potty at least once an hour. And in the end the bathroom we tried to get to was closed and she ended up having an accident. Of course that was the only time Ive gone without a change of clothes too... Needless to say that was the end of our day. Poor kiddo was so embarrassed.

Hilda and I went out to the Cabazon outlet mall because she need a new purse. We both ended up with one. And almost the exactly the same one too. Its the same style, though mine is pink and hers is just a solid black. but talk about a great deal! They were regularly $300 and something and we got them for less than $100, cant go wrong!

This was my graduation present from my family. Its pretty awesome-you buy books (at a discount) from Amazon (wirelessly wooohoo)and then they are all in one place. If you knew how many books I have you would know how exciting that is. I have books EVERYWHERE at my house. It has no backlight, its called 'digital ink' so its not bad for your eyes like a computer is. It also has a feature that allows it to read ANY book outloud which is an added bonus :0

I took about a million pictures and for some reason I could not get any of them to come out well, I guess phones are just not photogenic, lol. Anyway, I havent liked my phone for a long time and I kept complaining. I finally decided I had had it and went to the Verizon store to buy a Blackberry. Of course I got there and ended up not liking them after all. But I found a perfect phone for me. It's the LG Versa, its touch screen with a flip full keyboard (thats not touch) so I can text faster which was my whole goal. So far its perfect!

Play Day

On Saturday Brandon, Kim, Hilda and I took the day to play. This was the first time we had been on any vacation as a foursome. We spent most of the day at River Park, we road the gondolas above the river then walked next to the falls. Afterward we walked over to the water play area and watched the kids play (as well as a wedding party take pictures). Then for the first time ever for me, we walked over to giant wagon and played. Ive seen it a million times but never went over too it. We went up and down the slide a few times then laid in the grass (okay I sat, lol) and watched people play around.

Later we played at the local arcade for awhile, watched "Fighting" (dont waste your money), drove by my apartment and then had not good service, but delicious food at Outback before we went back to my Uncles for the night.

It was such a nice day my brother commented over and over that he couldnt ever remember having a nicer day, and that he was so relaxed. It really was a great day. We plan to get together more frequently and find things to do as a foursome :)

Graduation

I finally graduated! This is me and my family on the banks of the Spokane River. Im going to brag here for a minute since I cant brag in person otherwise I sound like a snob, lol. I graduated Summa Cum Laude!!! Wooohoo! I had no idea until I got there, lol I just did my classwork, I never paid attention to exactly what my GPA was...but 3.9/4.0 is darn good!!

The ceremony itself was torture, it lasted almost 3 hours and I only knew one person there. Although by the end I knew the lady next to me pretty darn well, lol. We talked through the whole ceremony cause we really couldnt see and it was BORING! One of the faculty told me that there was a second ceremony at another school the next day that I could attended-oh heck no! One was enough!!! Who would wanna do it twice anyway??

Josie's First Trip To Disneyland

Maria and I took Kayla and Josie to Disneyland. Josie slept almost the whole day and Kayla threw those famous 3yo tantrums. But it was still fun. Although we were there all day we only rode about 4 rides. At this rate Im going to be able to go to Disneyland a few times a month and never finish all the rides in the year I have to go, thats one way to never get bored!

I chose this picture to post because Cinderella is my favorite princess so I snuck in the picture (Josie was a convenient excuse). This picture is also important because we managed to survive that line, even though Kayla had melt down after melt down in it-I managed not to lose my mind!

Hilda and I went to Sea World together, just us grown ups. We had a blast! We each even got to touch a dolphin! It was Hilda's first time at Sea World (insane, really!) so we squeezed in every show and every thing there was to look at, including the Sky Tower and the Sky Ride neither of which I had done before. I'm glad a took a day for just the two of us, I miss Hilda, 'cause we dont see each other much anymore.

The Nina Diaper Bag

I decided I need a diaper bag of my own. Maria lives out of hers and so its bursting at the seams and nothing I wanna carry everywhere I go. I looked and looked trying to find one I liked. After going to about 4 stores I gave up and had some time with Melissa. She suggested that I look at Ross which never crossed my mind.

Later that day I ended up at a TJ Maxx and found this Liz Claiborne purse that was exactly what I was looking for in a diaper bag, including being pink and brown. Even better I paid $14 and the tag said it was originally $48, I love a bargain!

Josie is old enough that I think she needs tummy time regularly. When I put her on the floor Roxie felt the need to watch over her. It was very cute, though I couldnt walk away from Josie at all because of Roxie's big paws. So far she has done very well walking around the baby, but she likes to put one paw on whoever (whomever?) is laying on the floor so I worry she might try that with the baby.

Josie is adorable as always...and I love having a guard dog!

Brain Stimulation

If you were to ask Maria how many times I have said that Josie needs her 'brain stimulated' she would probably just roll her eyes. I think kids should be kids, but that as adults we should provide them with stimulation to help them grow in a healthy way. At two months old, Josie's stimulation is being talked/sang to, looking at her toys, and bouncing away in the bouncer to make her toys dance.

She is so happy when she is being stimulated...even happier than when she is being held.

I asked her if she would rather see Matthew or go to Disneyland for the day and she picked Matthew. Corrina hung out there with me while my mom went to a meeting. By the end of our time there we were literally climbing the toys!

Bottles....

5 Things I've learned about bottles, and bottles with Josie.
1. Sterilizing them is my least favorite thing to do. It's the only thing I hate about keeping her overnight.
2. For some reason she can get the milk outta the larger bottles faster (very important at 4am, lol) Im sure its something to do with physics, Im just glad I figured it out.
3. If I have to use a small bottle, make sure the lid is barely tight, that helps her get the milk out too (otherwise one feeding can take 45 minutes)
4. Playtex/Nuk bottles only come in 2 styles for girls-very annoying
5. If you get the water hot in the microwave before you warm the bottle it warms fast! There isnt enough time to change a diaper before its too hot.

I got to see my girlies today-first time in almost a week! One of the first thing Kayla does is ask me "can I see my room?" . LOL I told her that it was her room and she can see it whenever she wants. When I went in there a bit later to check on her this was how I found her. So funny to see her like that cause thats how I always sat in my room as a kid. On my bed with a book. Definitely some nurture involved in her life choices. Gotta love it!

Strep Throat...

What the heck is is about CA that I get strep throat here? I swear I only had strep throat once (if at all) while I lived in ID/WA. Ive only been in CA a few months and I already have it again?! I used to get it at least once a year when I lived here, I really cant stand to go back to that again.

Im glad I finally decided to go to the doctor. I wasnt going to go cause I figured it was just a cold but today was so horrible with me coughing until I gagged that I thought I would go and at least get some cough medicine with codeine. When I got they took my vitals (my BP is down even more yay!) and then the doctor told me to say 'ah' before he even flashed the light in my my mouth he said "you have strep throat". Oh joy! I dont know why I didnt think to have my mom look at my throat when I saw her yesterday cause she could have told me then, she is used to looking for me since I get it so often.

Hopefully this coughing will end soon....

I cant figure out whats wrong with my plant. This plant was always so hardy in WA. Nothing I did to it seemed to phase it. Now that Im in sunny CA its dying on me! I dont know if Im not watering it enough for the heat here or what but its making me nuts, I love this plant...or I did when it wasnt half brown, lol.

Maria and I took Kayla and her cousin Natalie to Disneyland today. The day started off a bit rough with Kayla in one of her whiny moods but thank goodness she snapped out of it cause it was pretty bad. While there I updated mine and Kayla's tickets to annual passes. They arent the best ones, we can only go on weekdays but they also didnt cost an arm and a leg.

I'm looking forward to going just Kayla and I so that I can see how thats going to go. Maria gets to use her ticket one more time between now and 5/4 so we will be going together again then, and then after that I should get a day with just the two of us alone. It's been a while since I have had a day with just Kayla.
